Exploration activities have been underway at the Ricciardo prospect within the Leinster project, as indicated by the most recent report from Bryah Resources Limited (BYH). The results from the first diamond drilling program are encouraging – they proffer significant promise for high-grade gold extensions. These findings may serve as a catalyst for augmented investment and further exploration.
The Ricciardo prospect delineates part of the Gabanintha project, where Bryah Resources Limited completed a maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program earlier this year. This program unearthed compelling gold mineralization. Encouraged by these findings, Bryah Resources launched an inaugural diamond drilling campaign at Ricciardo in July. The drilling program comprised 4 holes, totaling 393.6 meters, which proved to yield gratifying results.
The meticulous drilling campaign reached depths below the base of complete oxidation (BOCO) to delineate the depth extensions of gold mineralization, which was outlined in the earlier program. The diamond drill holes were designed to intersect previous high-grade gold intercepts. The standout intercepts, including 3 metres at 6.74 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold from 75m in hole BRDD001 and 9 metres at 2.61g/t of gold from 71m in hole BRDD002, reinforce the viability of Ricciardo as a finish-able, high-grade deposit.
The initial drilling program was a significant endeavour, and the results were pivotal in understanding the geological profile of the deposit as well as its prospective commercial viability. Bryah Resources’ decision to move forward with a subsequent drilling program was vindicated by the fruitful results obtained from the first diamond drilling project.
A vital part of the study was the detection of high-grade gold in elevated sulphide zones. These zones were particularly identified within the 9 metres at 2.61g/t gold retrieved from 71m in BRDD002. This reflects an important link between the distribution of elevated sulphides and higher grades of gold at Ricciardo. Notably, Bryah anticipates a strong correlation between these elevated sulphide zones and the occurrence of magnetic features. Further evaluation of airborne magnetic data is currently ongoing.
In addition to the gold, the drilling project also unveiled significant traces of other elements like zinc and copper, which suggest the possible presence of Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) mineralization.
Although the data still requires further study, the initial impression is notably promising. The outstanding gold mineralization depths and the higher average gold grades solidify the potential of Ricciardo as a gold launchpad. Every drilling exercise drives the extensive analyses that refine Bryah Resources’ understanding of what lies beneath the earth at the Ricciardo prospect, thereby guiding further exploratory and possibly production-oriented decisions in the future.
The drilling program plays a substantial role in Bryah’s overall advancement strategy at the Leinster project, shaping the roadmap to harness the rich gold potential within the prospect. These promising results will, without a doubt, spur further exploratory undertakings at the Ricciardo prospect and the wider Gabanintha project. As Bryah Resources moves forward, scientifically-informed strategies derived
